Standard For Business Process Modeling

Scope

Business process modeling is a key component of the enterprise architecture.  It is the activity of defining and outlining business practices, processes, information flows, data stores, and systems.  By creating a standard that addresses the components necessary to complete a business process model within the NIH, we can promote consistency between the models that are produced.  


Expected Value

  • Provides a roadmap between the current state of a business and the desired future state.
  • Provides a method to allow organizations to understand their business processes in a graphical manner.
  • Enables organizations to communicated their business processes in a standard manner.


2007 4th Quarter

  • Compile feedback for NIHRFC0027.


2008 1st Quarter

  • Modify the NIHRFC0027 and seek approval from the ARB.
