Washington DC in Spring

Washington, DC is located in the eastern United States, bordering both Virginia and Maryland, and is the capitol city of the United States. The city has over 120 defined neighborhoods distributed among 8 wards, which are political areas used to elect members of the City Council. Together with portions of Virginia and Maryland, Washington is part of the large Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area.

At the 2000 Census, Washington, DC had a population of 572,059, and the Census Bureau estimates the 2003 population at 563,384. Though smaller than Delaware, covering just 68.3 square miles, DC's population is larger than that of Wyoming, the country's least populous state. The population is fairly evenly distributed among the 8 DC wards.
