Mary Schaeffer

Mary Schaeffer is the former Director of Cultural Services under the Tribal Services for Maniilaq Association.  In that capacity she managed seven Cultural service programs including the Traditional Healing Program.  Mary is also a registered agent for the Northwest Inupiat Elders Conference and was a member of many boards including the Native Arts Council, Inupiat Language Commission, State Board of Education, Association of School Boards and the Northwest Arctic School Board. 

Mary's extensive history with Manillaq includes work as the director of the Senior Center, the Social Rehabilitation Program and as Vice President for Operations for Maniilaq Association.  Mary recently developed the FamilyWellness Camp, a holistic program where the whole family can receive counseling operated by the Maniilaq Recovery Center.  This camp is located 9 miles Northeast of Selawik.
