NIDCD Mentors Directory for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Individuals

The NIDCD is pleased to announce the launch of a directory of NIDCD-funded investigators who are committed to mentoring deaf and hard-of-hearing (HoH) students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior scientists interested in careers in research on hearing, balance, smell, taste, voice, speech, or language.

Through querying the NIDCD Mentors Directory for Deaf and HoH Individuals, those researchers interested in mentorship in these areas can identify and then contact scientists who appear well matched to their research interests, career stage, and location. To date, more than 90 researchers from the NIDCD communities, either that of grantees who work at universities and colleges, or those investigators who work on campus, have registered on the Directory as prospective mentors.

The Directory is searchable by location/state, NIDCD research areas (hearing, balance, smell, taste, voice, speech, and language), and education level of the mentee. There is also a feedback feature on the site.
