Purpose
The Architecture Review Board (ARB), chartered by the ITWG, is the primary oversight body for the NIH Enterprise Architecture (EA) program.
Responsibilities
The ARB is an executive-level committee whose primary responsibilities are:
- Establishing an initial agreement on:
- Why and how an architecture will benefit the enterprise
- The level of effort involved
- Commitment to comply with the guidelines.
- Monitoring the state of the architecture program, the degree of compliance and whether projected benefits are achieved
- Approving or rejecting domain teams’ architecture recommendations
- Approving or denying major project exception requests
- Forwarding any unresolvable enterprise architecture process-related issues to the ITWG for adjudication
- Adjudicating architecture related conflicts as necessary
- Establishing working groups as necessary
