The OITE and the FELCOM Career Development Committee are pleased to announce a leadership development workshop for NIH postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.
Leadership Skills to Advance Your Career in Science
Workshop description: There is more to a successful career in science than just being a good researcher. Your work exists within an organizational context involving complex interactions and many different personality types. It is important that you learn to understand organizational structures and that you develop the skills needed to master a variety of complex situations within these structures. This leadership program will focus on three
important areas of development: working with others, advocating for yourself and your career, and negotiation strategies. The three hour session will be
taught in an interactive way and will focus on developing specific skills that you can use right away.
The workshop will be offered twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
