Determination of process contaminants in biopharmaceuticals

NMR determination of synthetic compounds

Laboratory of Proteomics and Analytical Technologies  (LPAT)
Lab Contact: Timothy D. Veenstra

The Laboratory of Proteomics and Analytical Technologies (LPAT) develops and provides qualitative, quantitative, and structural analytical technologies via three complementary groups:

• Mass Spectrometry
• Separations Technology
• Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

Mass Spectrometry Center (MS)
The LPAT Mass Spectrometry Center is equipped with the latest in mass spectrometry (MS) instrumentation for analyzing both small and large biomolecules. The Center offers corresponding expertise in detection, quantitation, structure confirmation, and mass measurements. The Center also educates scientists on the use, interpretation, and applications of MS technologies.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Group (NMR)
The LPAT Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Group offers NCI researchers expertise in NMR experimentation and analysis using the most current hardware and software. Members of this group have experience in electronics engineering, pulse sequence programming, and database access.

Separations Technology Group (CE, HPLC, GC)
The LPAT Separations Technology Group has developed innovative methods for separation and quantitation using gas chromatography (GC), supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and capillary electrophoresis (CE) online with mass spectrometry. Training in GC, HPLC, and CE is also offered to users.
