Test opportunities for each transitioned mechanism will be posted in the Grants.gov 07 Acceptance Test (AT) environment. The test opportunities will be posted under the “NIHStage” agency.
Submit using Commons accounts that are valid in NIH Ext-UAT.
NIH will pick up and process these test applications just as in Production. All normal Grants.gov and eRA Commons email notifications will be sent. You can view the result of the submission in Commons Stage.

Grants.gov AT07 & NIH Ext-UAT Test Opportunities with Special Opt-out eRA Validations

There is a limited set of mechanism specific validations that, although standard values are assigned, NIH Institutes and Centers (IC) may choose not to have eRA systems enforce applicant compliance with these standard values in order to allow alternative values specified in a Funding Opportunity Announcements to be accepted. When this happens we call it “opting-out of limited validations”.

Under normal circumstances, the eRA system will check the application against standard values and provide an error/warning if the standard value is exceeded. For “opt-out” opportunities, the eRA system still checks the application against the standard value, but if the value is exceeded a special warning message is provided indicating that the applicant should check the FOA and be sure to comply with the values specified. Remember, warnings will not stop the application submission process. If an announcement is “opted-out”, the special warning message is given for all limited validations associated with that activity code.

'Other Agency' validations are the set of validations needed by the eRA system to ensure complete and accurate application processing without full system enforcement of agency business rules. These validations may be used under the following circumstances:

For Agency grant mechanisms that NIH may never use
To allow electronic submission quickly for new activity codes until full validations can be implemented
For Non-NIH opportunities that may be exempt from NIH validations
