URGENT: Contact Your Senators Now To Support NIH Amendment
As soon as this coming Monday, Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) will offer a key amendment on the Senate floor to provide $10 billion for the National Institutes of Health in the economic recovery package. Please contact your Senators right now through SfN’s Legislative Action Center and ask them to support the Specter amendment. If you already contacted your Senators in the past two weeks, we thank you for your efforts thus far and ask that you contact them again and urge them to vote “yes” on this amendment that will increase critical research funds in your state. Then urge five colleagues in your lab or at your university to do the same! It takes just a couple of minutes and a few clicks online. Learn more.

Nominations for Officers, Committee Members Are Open
The SfN Nominating Committee encourages Regular members to submit nominations for President-Elect and Treasurer-Elect. The Committee on Committees is also accepting 2009 committee replacement nominations. View a list of committees, charters, and current rosters. All nominations are due Feb. 6.
