Education outreach is a key mechanism for achieving the mission of the
National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
The Environmental Health Science Education website provides educators, students and
scientists with easy access to reliable tools, resources and classroom materials.
It seeks to invest in the future of environmental health science by increasing awareness of
the link between the environment and human health.
NIEHS supported the development of standards-based
curricular materials that use environmental health as an integrative context for learning.
The following list of materials address a wide range of academic subjects such as biology,
health, civics, social studies, math, chemistry, and language arts. Many of these materials are
being evaluated for their outcomes on student performance and teaching practices. Learn more about
the program: EHSIC program.
