Abstract: (CIT): The talk will not discuss the fundamentals of electrospray ionization, nor will there be a discussion of the ubiquitous application of electrospray to proteomics. The purpose of this seminar is to honor Professor Fenn's achievement and to share his stories. The content of the talk will include bibliographic milestones, Professor Fenn's laboratory in the 1980's, and the people who were intimately involved with the research and application of the electrospray ionization of molecules. Pictures of Professor Fenn's Nobel acceptance speech and of the award ceremony will be included.
