Equations MUST be proportionate to each other.

Note: Adobe Photoshop 7 and Acrobat 5 are required for this process.
  1. In ACROBAT, open the PDF file.
  2. Increase the viewing percentage to 375%.
  3. DO NOT ZOOM AFTER THIS STEP.
  4. Open PHOTOSHOP.
  5. In ACROBAT, click the capture graphic tool (looks like a camera).
  6. Draw a generous box around the equation, trying not to include extraneous text.
  7. The box will flash when the mouse is released; if not, press CTRL C to copy the image to the clipboard.
  8. Go to PHOTOSHOP select from menu: File > New > (Preset: Clipboard) > OK.
  9. Press CTRL V or select from menu: Edit > Paste.
  10. Select from menu: Layer > Flatten Image.
  11. Crop off any extraneous text or white space using the crop tool.
  12. Select from menu: Image > Trim (the default: top left is ok).
  13. Select from menu: Image > Image Size... > Resample Image > Uncheck the Resample Image checkbox at the bottom of the Image Size palette.
  14. In Document Size > Width > Change the Inches drop down to percent.
  15. Change the width from 100 to 50 percent, click OK.
  16. Select from menu: File > Save as > Select .tif from the drop-down menu.
  17. Save the file using the naming convention: jour-vol-pg-typ.ext.
  18. Tiff Options: (Image Compression: None, Pixel Order: Interleaved, Byte Order: IBM PC).
