DescriptionThe conference is designed to encourage collaboration among investigators; promote the development of therapies that not only would benefit spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) but also have potential for other related diseases (e.g., amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [ALS]); give patients, families, and researchers a chance to interact; and bring junior researchers to the meeting to allow them to interact with senior scientists, possible future mentors, and patients/families.
