Rotational Opportunity – Division of Outside Review and Liaison
The
Division of Outside Review and Liaison (DORL) serves as the Government
Accountability Office/Office of the Inspector General Audit Liaison for NIH; conducts
audit follow-up activities; and handles special requests from the NIH Deputy
Director. Additionally, DORL houses the NIH Classified Security Officer
(CSO)function which establishes NIH policies and procedures (in conformance
with HHS and Executive Branch policies) for the use and protection of classified
national security information (NSI).

Description:
Become part
of the DORL Team! Assist with:
- Identifying NIH
Institutes and Centers (ICs)/programs whose participation in an audit
is critical
- Ensuring that issues of
concern to NIH are considered when GAO/OIG review methodologies are
developed
- Arranging for entrance
and exit conferences
- Coordinating follow-up
requests for meetings or documents related to reviews
- Coordinating preparation
of NIH response to draft reports and ensuring that NIH comments are
clear, concise, and relevant
- Coordinating NIH status
of corrective actions in response to final reports
- Reviewing final reports
that have open recommendations to determine scope of follow-up required
- Making initial follow-up
request to parties responsible for implementing corrective actions and
continuing to follow-up with responsible parties until all
recommendations have been implemented
- Keeping track of key
statistics including dollars recovered, cases closed, new cases, etc.
Specific
projects include
updating and refining NIH policy concerning the NIH Audit Liaison and
the NIH
audit follow-up functions.
