Kohn, M.D., Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, comment on prospects for continuing advancement of gene therapy for treatment of genetic diseases in light of the outcome of gene therapy for severe combined immunodeficiency disease, or SCID, due to deficiency of the enzyme adenosine deaminase (ADA), reported in recent trials.
