Customizable Checklists @ NIH

Both Grants Management Specialists and Program Officials see the checklist during their pre-award workflow for both competing and non-competing grants. The Program Official completes a checklist to document programmatic review; Grants Management Specialists use the checklist to document the administrative review of all grants prior to issuing an award.

Checklists include standard NIH-wide questions customized by grant type (e.g., competing, non-competing), and program (e.g., research, training, individual fellowships). Standard questions are not editable by specific Institutes and Centers (ICs). However, the checklists also accommodate IC-specific customized questions that again can be customized by grant type and program.

Who can view the Customizable Checklist?

Grant Management Specialists and Program Officials will see the checklists as part of their workflow in the Grants Management and Program modules, respectively.
