The Office of Education, within the Division of Intramural Research of NICHD, supports trainees at all levels who are conducting research on our campus in Bethesda, Maryland and in nearby facilities.

Mission

The mission of the Office of Education is to support the needs of intramural scientists, fellows, and students at all levels as they relate to training, through: recruitment and development of academic support programs; maintenance of accreditation; contributions to mentoring, evaluation, and career guidance; and creation of new training initiatives.

Welcome

At whatever stage in your career you may be looking for a biomedical research opportunity, through the Office of Education you may make contacts with investigators, learn about the research profiles of each of our laboratories, and find out how to apply for vacancies. As you prepare to travel to campus, the office can respond to any questions that may facilitate your transition to a new position in our institute. Once here, a range of programs is offered to support you in your academic and professional development, to complement the mentored experience you will have at the bench, the bedside, or both.

Your mentors in the intramural, on-campus, program of NICHD are committed to stimulating your investigative careers in an atmosphere of scientific inquiry and imagination, where you may have an unfettered opportunity to ask questions and contribute to the process of discovery and uncovering new knowledge.
