Mammalian Genes and Development
Head: Heinrich J. Westphal
This group employs advanced gene targeting and transgenic technologies to study genes that control specific stages of mouse development. Of particular interest to the group is the development of the central and peripheral nervous systems, pituitary and thymus development, and mechanisms of genomic imprinting. In addition, the group generates mouse models of a diverse array of human genetic disorders.
