Section on Social and Emotional Development

Research in the Section on Social and Emotional Development is focused on the elicitation and evaluation of children\’s testimony and on factors affecting early psychosocial and emotional adaptation in a variety of cultural and social contexts. Current research projects are designed to explore: The dynamics and informativeness of investigative interviews with alleged child abuse victims; the effects of out-of-home, school, and family experiences on the development of Swedish youth; socioemotional and psychophysiological factors affecting adjustment to day care; and the everyday experiences of infants in diverse sociocultural contexts.
