Dr. Ronda S. Henry-Tillman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, specializing in breast surgical oncology, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She is currently the Medical Director of the Women's Oncology Clinic and the Director of Cancer Control at the Arkansas Cancer Research Center (ACRC) at UAMS She received a B.S. in Biology from San Diego State University and furthered her education at the University of California-San Diego School of Medicine, where she received her M.D. She served her surgical residency at UAMS and completed the Virginia Clinton Kelley/FFANY (Fashion Footwear Association of New York) Clinical Breast Fellowship in 1999.
Dr. Henry-Tillman is a recognized leader in the breast cancer arena-from early diagnosis to innovative treatment. She received the National Cancer Institute Leadership Award in 2004 for her work with the Arkansas Special Populations Access Network (ASPAN), a 5-year grant focusing on increasing cancer control activities among Arkansas' minority and medically underserved communities.
Dr. Henry-Tillman has authored numerous publications and offered editorials and commentaries in such journals as the American Journal of Surgery, Annals of Surgery, Journal of Breast Disease, and Women's Oncology Review. She has made national and international presentations on MRI and breast cancer staging, laser treatment of breast cancer, and advancements in breast cancer treatment. Dr. Henry-Tillman's research efforts in cancer control, education, and awareness have advanced her as Principal Investigator on over $8 million in federally funded grants, with additional grant support from private foundations such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
