NIH employees nationwide

In 1996, recognizing the growing value of electronic mail as a communications tool, the Director of NIH requested that an NIH-wide e-mail list be set up. Its purpose was to facilitate the communication of important mission-related information of interest to the broad NIH community.

The NIH-STAFF E-Mail List now disseminates e-mail to the entire NIH community of approximately 40,000 people. Messages submitted for distribution via NIH-STAFF undergo internal review by designated Reviewing Officials within each IC, as well as final review by the NIH-STAFF list moderators. The NIH-STAFF E-mail List is restricted to official NIH business only.
