Kidney Interagency Coordinating Committee

The Kidney Interagency Coordinating Committee (KICC) consists of Federal representatives involved in CKD programs and activities. KICC's purpose is to encourage communication and collaboration to shape a more coordinated Federal response to CKD. To support KICC, NKDEP:

  • Publishes KICC News, a quarterly newsletter;
  • Coordinates KICC meetings; and
  • Is developing an online resource that will summarize CKD-related activities and provide contact information.

Many Federal agencies lead an aspect of the multi-faceted and interconnected response to CKD. The graphic below presents a bird's eye view of the different categories of response and the agencies that play a role in each, highlighting the importance of interagency communication.

KICC Meetings

The goal of the Kidney Interagency Coordinating Committee (KICC) is to encourage cooperation, communication, and collaboration among all federal agencies involved in kidney research and other activities. NKDEP convenes KICC annually to share information on various agencies' programs and activities related to CKD and to discuss ways to improve the coordination of Federal responses to CKD.

KICC News

KICC News is a quarterly newsletter published by NKDEP. KICC News is one way for KICC members to highlight their activities and share knowledge with each other. The newsletter covers a broad range of issues related to CKD.

KICC News is emailed to a growing list of Federal employees with interest in CKD and in the audiences impacted by the disease. Recipients are encouraged to share KICC News with their colleagues and to send story ideas for future issues to NKDEP.
