The electronic Research Administration (eRA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new website
(http://era.nih.gov/) designed to
provide helpful, up-to-date information with quick and easy navigation for visitors. The revamped
eRA home page ushers users to the information
that is important to them by tailoring the content in distinct areas for Grant Applicants versus
NIH/Federal Grantor Agencies. The goal is to put the information you need at your fingertips.
The website has been designed based on analysis of website traffic, frequently used links and
feedback from the grant community.
As you navigate the new site, you will find the following enhancements:
- Services for Applicants tab - this new area contains fact sheets on eRA's services in 'plain language' along with examples of how NIH implements some of those services.
- Commons tab - an overview of the eRA Commons with quick links to access the Commons system, FAQs and quick queries (i.e. list of Commons registered organizations, progress report search, etc.).
- NIH & Grantor Agencies tab - highlights the many services and system modules available for NIH staff and other federal agencies. As eRA supports additional federal agencies, the services will broaden in range to meet a larger variety of needs.
- News & Events tab - provides eRA updates and information on upcoming workshops or seminars with an eRA presence.
The new eRA site is part of a larger redesign effort involving the Office of Extramural Research website, an informative source on the grants process and policy, which has a new look and feel and updated content. An important addition to the OER website is a new section that provides users with the basics of the NIH Grants Process (e.g. Grant Basics, an interactive NIH Grants Process At-A-Glance chart, an activity code search, expanded activity code chart, etc.).
Important Note: The old eRA website has been archived and will continue to be available for six months. We conducted an analysis of traffic to the old website and migrated the links that were most frequently used to the new website. If there is anything on the old site that you think would be helpful that was not moved, please contact us at oris@od.nih.gov.
