The research program in the Division of Computational Bioscience (DCB) focuses on applying state-of-art technologies in bioengineering, bioinformatics, computational biology and chemistry, high-performance computing, image processing and medical imaging, and mathematical and statistical analyses to a broad range of biomedical research problems at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The DCB staff members are currently engaged in collaborative research projects with the NIH intramural researchers in the following areas:

Although the DCB staff members are primarily engaged in collaborative research with the NIH intramural researchers, they also perform independent research in developing innovative algorithms and approaches that can be applied to solving complex biomedical research problems.Their independent research covers a wide range of topics in computational science, modern engineering and computer science, and information science, which include the followings but are not limited to :

These basic research studies have strengthened DCB�s collaborative research projects, and they have been transformed into end-user applications.
