National Network of Tobacco Cessation Quitlines, 1-800 QUIT NOW (1-800-784-8669)
The National Network of Tobacco Cessation Quitlines is a state/federal partnership that provides tobacco users in every state with access to the tools and resources they need to quit smoking, ensuring the highest level of assistance to tobacco users who want to quit. The new toll-free number 1-800 QUIT NOW (1-800-784-8669) serves as a single point of access to state-based quitlines. TCRB has played a critical role in the development of the National Network of Tobacco Cessation Quitlines and helped facilitate $13 million in funding to the Cancer Information Service (CIS), which is the lead organization within NCI on this initiative. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other partners were key collaborators on this initiative.
