Joanne Odenkirchen, M.P.H.

Ms. Odenkirchen has worked in public health for over 19 years in various Federal agencies including CDC, PHS/OASH, and several NIH institutes. Ms. Odenkirchen has over 15 years experience in clinical research project management, particularly in the implementation and oversight of clinical trials including several smoking cessation trials (COMMIT and ASSIST), the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI), and numerous international vaccine trials. She has experience working with local, state, federal and international governments and health agencies, universities, and non-profit organizations while managing clinical trials. Ms. Odenkirchen has been the project officer on several contracts for coordinating centers and clinical research activities. Ms. Odenkirchen has developed several guidelines, policies and procedures on the conduct and oversight of clinical research projects while at her previous position at NIAMS.
