NIH Domestic Travel (NBS Travel System)
Course Number: 2601
DescriptionReceive complete instruction for preparing travel for federal employees traveling within the continental United States. Also during hands-on exercises, prepare travel using the NIH Business System (NBS) Travel System. You will receive a handbook you can use as a desk reference. This course satisfies the mandatory requirement for access to the NBS travel system. Key Topics - Understanding rules and regulations governing the travel of federal employees.
- Estimating travel costs.
- Making reservations through TMC.
- Using the government travel charge card with ATM features.
- Using the NBS Travel System to enter: Domestic Travel Orders, Domestic Travel Vouchers, Local Travel Vouchers and HHS-348 Sponsored Travel.
Audience- NIH employees (including Administrative Officers) who have minimum experience in preparing or authorizing travel.
- This course is also recommended for employees who have not received current training in rules and regulations within the last two or three years.
