Green Purchasing Training

To Acquisition Training Page | To ACP Home Page

All purchase card holders, card approving officials, project officers and acquisition staff in job series 1102, 1105 and 1106 are required to take Green Purchasing training every two years. In addition, Green Purchasing training every two years is required to maintain acquisition certification at all certification levels. Green purchasing refers to federal requirements to purchase recycled content products, energy-efficient products and renewable energy technologies, alternative fuel vehicles and alternative fuels, biobased products, environmentally preferable products and services, and non-ozone depleting substances.

There are two versions of the Green Purchasing training available via webcast: A one hour version for Purchase Card Holders and Card Approving Officials, and a two hour version for Acquisition staff (1102s and 1105s).

The one hour version is available at http://videocast.nih.gov/launch.asp?12600 Green Purchasing for Purchase Card Holders (HHS-Only)

The two hour version is available at http://videocast.nih.gov/launch.asp?12667 Green Purchasing for Acquisition Staff (HHS-Only) (Note: If you are unable to access the training above, please try disabling your pop up blocker: on tool bar, click Tools - Pop-up blocker - Turn Off Pop-up blocker. Another reason it may not work is if your computer doesn’t have Real Player installed.)

To be entered into our database after viewing one of these videocasts, you need to e-mail Carl Henn (ch24v@NIH.GOV) with a cc to your supervisor. The system will not create a certificate at the end of the video. You may check if you are in the database as having completed this training here.
