Dissemination of Cancer Treatment

The most favorable outcomes for cancer patients can be achieved only when cancer treatments of proven efficacy are effectively delivered in the general community. The Applied Research Program supports efforts to monitor patterns of treatment dissemination through Patterns of Care/Quality of Care Studies, including monitoring treatment and quality of life measures in the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Study. Other efforts that contribute knowledge to this area include the Cancer Care Outcomes Research and Surveillance Consortium (CanCORS) and the SEER-Medicare Linked Database.

To learn more about what the program is supporting in these areas of research, visit the Health Services and Economics Branch Web site.
