OARAC Working Groups and Guidelines Development
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issues federal guidelines documents for the medical management of HIV infection and issues surrounding HIV infection. The guidelines are written, reviewed, and updated by Working Groups of HIV experts from across the country, including physicians, pharmacists, researchers, and HIV treatment advocates. The guideline documents can be accessed on the AIDSinfo Web site at http://www.aidsinfo.nih.gov/Guidelines.
Working Groups under the auspices of OARAC develop separate guidelines for:
- Treatment of Adults and Adolescents
- Treatment of Children
- Treatment of Pregnant Women and Prevention of Mother-to-Child HIV Transmission
- Prevention and Treatment of Opportunistic Infections
