Harmful if Swallowed or absorbed through skin. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.

Ingestion: Acute oral LD50 (rat) is 1750 - 4250 mg/kg (Wilbur-Ellis). Do not ingest. Can be fatal. Do not store near food or feed. Wash thoroughly before eating, drinking or smoking.
Inhalation: May irritate nose and throat. Avoid breathing vapors or mist. Wear appropriate respiratory protective protection for the exposure encountered.
Skin Absorption: Acute dermal LD50 (rabbit) for Metalaxyl is 6000 mg/kg (Ciba-Geigy). Can be absorbed dermally. Wear proper personal protective equipment to reduce skin exposure. Can cause skin irritation.
Eye Exposure: Keep out of eyes. Can cause eye irritation. If exposed, flush eyes for a minimum of 15 minutes with water. Wear proper eye protection to reduce splash exposure.
Effects of Overexposure: Can cause irritation to the skin eyes, throat and nose. May cause vomiting or diarrhea. No known chronic effects. Preexisting medical conditions involving the above symptoms may be aggravated by exposure to this product.

In all cases, get prompt medical attention.
If ingested, give several glasses of water and induce vomiting. Do not induce vomiting if person is unconscious.
If inhaled, remove victim to fresh air and administer CPR is necessary.
For skin exposure, remove contaminated clothing and wash with soap and water.
If eye contact occurs, irrigate for a minimum of 15 minutes with water.

Handling/Disposal
|

Wear long-sleeved coveralls, safety goggles, neoprene or rubber boots and nitrile or neoprene gloves. For manufacture, formulation and application operations, recommend a shower at the end of the work shift.

Disposal: Use only DOT-approved disposal containers and dispose of in accordance with applicable federal, state and local regulations.
From Label:
Pesticide disposal: Pesticide, spray mixture or rinse water that cannot be used according to label instructions must be disposed of according to applicable Federal, State or local authorities.
Container Disposal: Triple rinse (or equivalent). Then offer for recycling or reconditioning, or dispose of in a sanitary landfill, or by incinerating. If allowed by State and local authorities.
General: Consult Federal, State, or local disposal authorities for approved alternative procedures such as limited opening burning.
