This chart describes the hierarchical relationship of some of the divisions,
programs and branches within the National Cancer
Institute, focusing on the place of the Statistical Research & Applications
Branch.
In the National Cancer Institute there are seven divisions:
the Center for Cancer Research,
the Division of Cancer Biology,
the Division of Epidemiology & Genetics,
the Division of Cancer Prevention,
the Division of Cancer Treatment & Diagnosis,
the Division of Extramural Activities,
and the Division of Cancer Control & Population Sciences.

In the Division of Cancer Control & Population Sciences there are five programs:
the Office of Cancer Survivorship,
the Behavioral Research Program,
the Applied Research Program,
the Epidemiology & Genetics Research Program,
and the Surveillance Research Program.
In the Surveillence Research Program there are two branches: the Cancer
Statistics Branch, and the Statistical
Research & Applications Branch.
