    This version supports v10.4 and above (including Intel processors)

    This release is a bug fix for Mac and PPP. Users will be able to consistently connect via PPP, without having to stop and start applications, as long as they have version 10.4.9 or higher.

    Linux pre-9 OS VPN 4.7.x Client (Full Client)
    A PDF file with official Cisco documentation is included inside the vpnclient directory. This is expected to be the last release of the non-x86 version of the Linux VPN Client. The non-x86 version supports platforms that do not have the GLIBC_2.2 and libstdc++.so.5 (such as versions prior to RedHat 9 and SuSe 9). It does NOT support SMP (multiprocessor) kernels in any release of the VPN Client. A readme.txt file is also included with more information.

    Linux x86 VPN 4.8.x Client (Full Client)
    A PDF file with official Cisco documentation is included inside the vpnclient directory. This release is a Beta for the VPN Client installed on biarch* linux systems for x86_64 platforms. The client operates on both 32-bit i386 and biarch x86_64 operating systems. On i386 32-bit operating systems, this release is not considered a Beta.This VPN Client now requires GLIBC_2.2 and libstdc++.so.5. Distributions like RedHat 9 and SuSe 9 comply with these requirements. A readme.txt file is also included with more information.

    Solaris VPN 4.x Client
    A PDF file with official Cisco documentation is included inside the vpnclient directory. The VPN Client for Solaris runs on any UltraSPARC computer running a 32-bit or 64-bit Solaris kernel OS Version 2.6 or later. This release officially supports Solaris 10. Please read included PDF carefully for more system requirements information.


    You must have an NIH Domain (AD) account to download the NIH VPN client.
    The VPN setup instructions are available at https://remoteaccess.nih.gov/ -- click on the VPN category heading on the left of the page, then click on the Connections/Configurations subheading link & then on the right side of the page, click on the link for your operating system to download or view the document.

    If you have problems installing the VPN client, try using the Uninstall instructions for your operating system. These instructions can be found on the same web page above -- look for the Uninstall Guide heading & click on the link for your operating system.
