PTSD Tenure Track or Tenured Investigator
The Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program, Division of Intramural Research, National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institutes of Health (NIH), seeks an accomplished Tenure Track or Tenured Investigator conducting research in the area of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The position comes with a budget and staff. The strong scientific environment and outstanding resources at NIMH make this a unique opportunity for a high-achieving scientist. The position also offers unparalleled opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with scientists throughout the NIH. The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen the current program.
Applicants should have: 1) an M.D. and/or Ph.D.; 2) must be an independent investigator with active clinical research interests in PTSD, psychiatric responses to traumatic events, and neurobiology of stress; 3) national and/or international recognition; 4) growing body of publications in this field; and 5) leadership experience developing and/or administering a research program.
Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments, and a full Civil Service package of benefits (including retirement, health, life, and long-term care insurance, as well as a Thrift Savings Plan, etc.) is available.
