Bioanalytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery Section
Irving W. Wainer, Ph.D., Chief
Senior Investigator
Overview: The Bioanalytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery Section has the overall goal of the development and application of novel bioanalytical methods to the etiology and diagnosis of diseases in the aging population and the optimization of treatment protocols for these diseases. The objectives of the section are to participate in the improvement of existing therapies and to lay the basis for the development of new approaches to clinical treatment. These objectives will be accomplished through the use of modern analytical techniques such as high performance liquid chromatography and capillary electropheresis coupled with mass spectrometric detectors.
