NIMH Outreach Partnership Program (OPP)

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Outreach Partnership Program (OPP) (Website) is a nationwide initiative established by NIMH in 1999 with NIDA and SAMHSA support. The goal is to involve national and state organizations to help bridge the gap between research and practice.

Mission:

Disseminate science-based information on mental illness, alcoholism and drug abuse;
Support understanding of brain disorders and the importance of accurate diagnosis and treatment;
Reduce stigma and discrimination with these disorders.
