Hormone Therapy & Mammography Working Group

Purpose: To assess the impact of use of Hormone Therapy (HT) on breast cancer screening performance across countries.

Members: Brian Cox (chair), Rachel Ballard-Barbash, Mireille Broeders, Emily Dowling, Berta Geller, Nea Malila, Rene Shumak, Stephen Taplin

Activities: The group will review the effect of HT on incidence, mortality, sensitivity and specificity of breast screening by mammography; will survey international screening programs about their recording of the use of HT; assess which programs have sufficient data for analysis of the effectiveness of mammography in HT users versus non-HT users; record how breast density is measured and recorded in these screening programs; and investigate the measurement of breast screening program performance in the presence of HT use.
