Sources/Uses Antimony trioxide is produced by roasting antimony sulfide ores, resublimating crude antimony oxide, or oxidizing molten antimony metal. [ACGIH]
Comments Epidemiological studies in 1973 and earlier of heavily exposed production workers in Great Britain showed increased rates of lung cancer. "At present, U.S. experience on the carcinogenic risk of Sb2O3 production is uniformative. Consequently, Sb2O3 production is given an A2 designation, Suspected Human Carcinogen. No TLV is assigned at this time." [ACGIH] See "Antimony."
