Category Rodenticides, Anticoagulant
Description White to pale yellow crystals formulated as dry and oil concentrate, spray, meal bait, paraffin blocks, pellets, and tracking powder; [HSDB]
Sources/Uses Used as a rodenticide in farm and food storage buildings; [HSDB]
Comments "Chlorophacinone is highly toxic orally and by skin absorption. The probable oral lethal dose for humans is less than 5 mg/kg to 50 mg/kg, or between a taste (less than 7 drops) and 1 teaspoonful for a 150 lb. (70 kg) person." [CAMEO] Volunteers who received 20 mg doses had average prothrombin times 36% of baseline levels on days 2-4 and 90% of baseline levels on day 8. Rodents are killed by internal hemorrhages 5-8 days after the lethal dose. [HSDB]
Exposure Assessment
Skin Designation (ACGIH) Not evaluated
Vapor Pressure 7.5 x 10 -10 mm Hg
