APIS - Alcohol Policy Information System
APIS is an electronic resource that provides authoritative, detailed, and comparable information on alcohol-related policies in the United States, at both State and Federal levels. Designed primarily as a tool for researchers, APIS is intended to encourage and facilitate research on the effects and effectiveness of alcohol-related policies.

Online Resources / ETOH Archive
NIAAA’s redesigned ETOH Web site now serves as a comprehensive source of Web-based alcohol research information for researchers and practitioners. In addition to offering links to numerous online resources, the new Web portal retains an archive of the original ETOH bibliographic database of 130,000 records from the late 1960s through 2003. A thesaurus of alcohol and other drug terms is available to help users conduct effective searches.

COMBIINE Data Set
The COMBINE Study is the largest pharmacotherapy trial conducted for alcoholism in the United States, recruiting 1383 alcohol dependent patients, 31% women and 23% ethnic minorities, from 11 sites.  The COMBINE data set resulted from a rich and complex longitudinal study and provides many opportunities for secondary analysis.

NESARC - National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions 
NESARC is the primary source for information and data on the U.S. population aged 18 and older for:
         - alcohol and drug use,
         - alcohol and drug abuse and dependence, and
         - associated psychiatric and other medical comorbidity.

Due to increasing concerns for confidentiality of individuals participating in U.S. Government and other surveys, NIAAA has determined that the Wave 1 and 2 NESARC be designated as limited access data files. Information on procedures for accessing the Wave 1 and 2 Data are currently being developed.
