To Request an Integrated Premiere Teleconferencing Account

Adobe Connect integrates with Premiere Global Service's Ready Conference Plus teleconferencing service, allowing you and your meeting attendees to communicate over standard telephones, visually indicate who is speaking during the meeting, record the telephone conversation within a recorded Connect meeting, remotely mute the telephone of a participant who has distracting background noise, etc.

Submit a Request to the NIH Help Desk* including the following information:

There is no charge to receive a Premiere Ready Conference Account and have it associated with your Connect Account. There is an additional fee to use the Premiere teleconferencing service. This amount will be billed to the associated Connect Account.

You can use other teleconferencing services to allow Connect meeting attendees to communicate, however the integrated services and recording features will not function. Please contact the Connect Support Team for more information.

* Some IC's have their own procedures. If your IC has its own Help Desk, please check there first.

Types of Connect Accounts

Billable Account

  • Allows the user to create meeting rooms. All meeting charges accrued in that meeting room will be billed to the CIT Account Code provided by the user's Administrative Officer.
  • Allows the user to login securely, and any features linked to the user's email address and phone number are enabled
  • The user can be given Presenter or Host privileges for someone else's meeting room in advance, allowing the user to function as a Host even if the meeting room creator does not attend the meeting.
  • The user can be promoted to Presenter or Host by another Host once in the meeting room
  • The user may attend any meeting that allows guests or Registered Users (as determined by the meeting room creator)

Non-Billable Accounts

  • The user cannot create meeting rooms
  • Allows the user to login securely, and any features linked to the user's email address and phone number are enabled
  • The user can be given Presenter or Host privileges for someone else's meeting room in advance. This allows the user to function as a Host even if the meeting room creator does not attend the meeting. Meeting charges will be assessed to the Billable Account holder who created the meeting room.
  • The user can be promoted to Presenter or Host by another Host once in the meeting room
  • The user may attend any meeting that allows guests or Registered Users (as determined by the meeting room creator)

Guest Login

  • The user cannot create meeting rooms
  • The user does not login securely, instead the user enters any name he or she chooses to use, and features linked to the user's email address and phone number are disabled
  • The user cannot be given Presenter or Host privileges for someone else's meeting room in advance, but the user can be promoted to Presenter or Host by another Host once in the meeting room
  • The user may attend any meeting that allows guests (as determined by the meeting room creator)

Shared Connect Accounts

  • Connect does NOT currently support a single account which allows multiple users to all have equal access rights to a single meeting room.
  • It is highly recommended that anyone in your group who is authorized to conduct a Connect meeting, be given his or her own Connect Account.
  • As with any computer technology, for security reasons you should not share your username and password with others.
  • It is possible for one person in your group to create a meeting room and then preset all the other team members who have Connect Accounts (either Billable or Non-billable) to be Hosts. This will allow any of the pre-authorized Hosts to perform such restricted task as entering a locked room to start the meeting, admitting Guests, and promoting other users.
  • Multiple accounts may be associated with the same CIT Account Code. No charges are accrued unless a meeting room is used.
  • Each Connect Account can only support one Premiere teleconference at a time, even if there are multiple meeting rooms. Therefore, if your group may conduct multiple Connect meetings simultaneously, your group will need multiple individual Connect Accounts, each with its own integrated Premiere Account.

CIT Account Codes

A CIT Account Code is required for all billable accounts (both Connect and Premiere). A CIT account code is tied to a CAN, but centralizes account management with the CIT Financial Management Office. A CIT account takes the form of 3 letters, or 3 letters and a number (e.g. ABC or ABC1).

If you do not know your CIT Account Code, contact the person responsible for CANs in your office, possibly your Administrative Officer.

If you need a new CIT Account Code set up, please fill out the attached form and return it to JoAnne Higgins, who will process it and give you your account code.

  • Requesting Institute/Center (IC) - IC requesting the new account.
  • Primary/Alternate Sponsor - The Sponsors are federal employees.  The Primary/Alternate Sponsors are responsible for the management of the account being issued and for the proper professional use of their account and users.  They will add and remove users, change sponsors, titles and CANs when necessary.  The sponsors and deregistration officials are assigned by the IC at their discretion.  Since the account officials can be responsible for budgetary and financial issues, the appointed person many not be a contractor.
  • Deregistration Officials - Government employee designated to be responsible for the accuracy of computer access information.
  • Account Information: Account/Project Title - Means of identifying the account or what it's being used for. • Authorization - Sponsor's signature
  • Send the completed form to the NIH/CIT/Financial Mgmt Office as indicated on the form.
  • Once you have an account code, please send it to webmeeting@mail.nih.gov so we can update your account accordingly.
