Information For Academic Researchers

NCI, and DTP in particular, has a long history of working with the academic community by offering research support through a variety of grant mechanisms (see Grants and Contracts Programs) as well as the DTP drug discovery (repositories, screening services, and development programs (Rapid Access to Intervention Development [RAID]). Many of our programs were designed specifically for the academic researcher who has a drug at the discovery level or is searching for assistance in obtaining compound toxicity information for an investigator-held IND (RAID and the Inter-Institute Program for the Development of AIDS-Related Therapeutics). Academic researchers can also access development resources through our Drug Development Group (DDG), where NCI holds the IND and commits to developing promising therapies to clinical trial. We encourage you to explore our Web site and contact us for further information.
