The Great Hall in June

Speaking of “great halls,” I was just over in our very own Great Hall and thought that I would post a quick pic that I took. Such a gorgeous building — even a novice shutterbug like me can’t mess it up.
You wouldn’t necessarily know it from this shot, but the place is teeming with visitors right now — just the way we like it! I bought a few items at the Retail Sales Shop and even had to wait in line at the cash register, but they opened two more registers quite quickly.
I can’t imagine that the clerks there know who I am, so I’m sure that means there is good customer service to be had even when bloggers aren’t lurking about!

Mark, thanks for the link to your great photos. That’s exactly the kind of thing we love to see!
And I’m very glad that you had photos of the beautiful and — in my opinion — underrated Madison Hall. (FYI, the picture of the bust is of our fourth president, not our third.) The Thomas Jefferson Building is GORGEOUS, but it doesn’t have the market cornered on aesthetic spaces at the Library.
I was just thinking that last night at a major event we had there, which I hope to blog about later today. (The post is done, but I’m having some technical issues with photos that I first wanted to iron out.)
