Second Street, NE, between Maryland Ave. and East Capitol Street will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 9.

The temporary street closure is necessary to provide adequate space for the safe delivery and unloading of large equipment associated with the Court’s modernization project by semi-trailers and a crane to the U.S. Supreme Court building. If there are unexpected delays or problems with delivery, the street may be closed for part of Sunday, October 10 as well.

Efforts will be made to move the equipment as quickly as possible. We regret any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause. For more information regarding the Supreme Court modernization project, please see the Court’s website: www.supremecourtus.gov, or contact the Court’s Public Information Office: 202-479-3211.

Thank you.
