Library in the News, 5/18: The Gershwin Prize

I hope this whole Gershwin Prize thing can help serve as my mea culpa for the sparse posting, but I did want to point out this Richard Harrington story in the Washington Post�s Weekend section on the selection of Paul Simon as the first recipient of the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
Full disclosure: I�ve been so busy today that I haven�t even read the whole thing yet, but I hope to take a copy into my next meeting and steal a few glances.
There is also a sidebar by Richard on Paul Simon�s songwriting, which I think will be interesting to anyone interested in music�s creative process, especially the creative process of genius.

Many unknown and underground artists, bands, musicians are there, I find their music are more satisfying than a trained professional singers. I think the Government should help them to get recognize.
