Information on Inauguration Tickets

Washington, D.C., Jan 9 -

For information on all inaugural events, please visit the official 2009 Inauguration Committee Web site at http://www.inaugural.senate.gov/

Inaugural Ceremony

A limited number of tickets to the Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony for the 44th President of the United States, which will be held on January 20, 2009, will be distributed to each Congressional office by the Inaugural Committee in January 2009.  This is the only Inaugural event to which our office will receive tickets.

Inaugural Ceremony Tickets

Our office has been allotted fewer than 200 tickets.  To date we have received nearly 3,000 requests for multiple tickets.  Due to the huge interest from constituents regarding the Inauguration ceremonies, tickets made available to our office will be distributed to constituents by a random selection process.  If you have contacted our office requesting ticket information, your name has already been entered into the selection pool.

If you wish to enter your household into the selection pool, please email us by clicking here.  We will stop accepting requests on Friday, December 12th at 5:00PM.  Those selected will be notified after Monday, January 5th.

Please be aware of the following:

  1. Any tickets available to Congressman Forbes will be for constituents of the Fourth Congressional District.  No tour company requests will be accepted.

  2. We will only accept one request per household.  Multiple entries will be discarded and completely removed from the selection pool.

  3. Due to the limited number of tickets, those selected will only be awarded 2 tickets.

Inaugural Parade

The inaugural parade is open to the public.  A limited number of tickets are typically made available for bleacher seating through the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC).  For more information, please visit www.inaugural.senate.gov.  Please note that the inaugural committee also has an e-mail update list if you would like to receive updates about the inauguration from the official committee.

Inaugural Balls

The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) plans the official Presidential Inaugural Balls. These events require tickets that will be available only through the PIC.  Information on tickets for these official inaugural events will be available at the Presidential Inaugural Committee Web site.
