The California Supreme Court’s decision to allow same sex marriage is wrong. This ruling will have far reaching consequences for children, the family, religious liberties, businesses and society as a whole. 

Our country has always defined marriage as between one man and one woman. I have signed on to H.J. RES 89 which would constitutionally define marriage as between a man and a woman, preventing states like California from marrying same sex couples. I am also co-sponsoring the Marriage Protection Act which would deny states the right to marry same sex couples and would keep federal judges from hearing cases arguing against the law. 

As a person who embraces a Biblical world view, I am deeply concerned that marriage as an ordained institution will suffer greatly if Congress does not pass these bills.  The foundation of the family will be weakened and children in our society will suffer if we do not stand firm at this critical moment in the history of our great nation.}
