50th Secretary of the Interior - Ken Salazar, a fifth generation Coloradan, was confirmed as the 50th Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior on January 20, 2009, in a unanimous vote by the U.S. Senate. Reclamation Seeking Interested Parties for River Basin Water Studies - The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking letters of interest from non-Federal entities throughout the seventeen western states to conduct river basin or sub-basin studies where water supply and demand imbalances may exist. Basin Studies will examine water supply issues and study needs of unique basins in the West. These studies will help Reclamation, states, and local officials meet growing water demands while using the best science.
