Hoyer Statement on Terrorist Attacks in London

WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today concerning the terrorist attacks in London:

“The terrorist attacks this morning on innocent men, women and children in London demonstrate again that the perpetrators of these barbaric acts have absolutely no respect for human life.

“The American people, and indeed civilized people in every corner of the world, condemn these cowardly attacks in the strongest possible terms.  Moreover, we stand united with the British people in our determination to defeat these cold-blooded murderers wherever they exist and to preserve and strengthen the cause of freedom and peace.

“Today, our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been killed and injured, and their loved ones. 

“The civilized world is under attack today by the purveyors of hate, violence, intolerance and lawlessness.  We have a responsibility to this generation, as well as future ones, to do everything within our power to extinguish these forces of darkness.”
