KINGSTON EARNS PERFECT RATING FROM MILITARY OFFICERS

Washington, D.C., Sep 22, 2008 -

Based on his support for key issues to veterans and military families, Congressman Jack Kingston (R/GA-1) has earned a perfect rating from the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).

MOAA is the largest association of military officers and is an independent, non-profit, and non-partisan organization.  With about 370,000 members from every branch of service, MOAA advocates a strong national defense and represents the interests of military officers at every stage of their career.

“I am honored that MOAA has recognized my work on behalf of military officers, veterans, and their families,” Congressman Kingston said.  “From closing the military-civilian pay gap to modernizing the GI Bill, I’ve made honoring the service of our brave troops a top priority throughout my career.  MOAA provides a clear, unbiased voice for strengthening our national defense and ensuring that active duty troops, veterans, and their families are represented at every level of lawmaking.  I appreciate their hard work on these important issues and will continue fighting for our shared goals.”

Founded in 1929, MOAA’s first leaders hoped that by joining together they could provide assistance and advice to other military officers.  Since that founding, MOAA’s purpose has grown to include career transition assistance, improved member products, military benefits counseling, educational assistance to children of military families, and strong involvement in military professionalism activities.
